Scalp acupuncture is another specialized acupuncture technique that targets functional zones, such as sensory, memory, and motor. It is effective in treating disorders of the central nervous system and various acute and chronic pain syndromes, such as cerebral injury, stroke, hemiplegia, aphasia, senile dementia, Parkinson0„30…4s and other brain disorders. Studies have shown that scalp acupuncture has been able to significantly relieve the severe burning pain which people with multiple sclerosis (MS), spinal cord injury (SCI), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and head injury often suffers from.

How Does It Work

A sterilized fine, short needle is obliquely inserted into the thin layer of scalp tissue at treatment zones associated with specific symptoms or conditions while patient chooses either sitting or lying position. A treatment session usually lasts an hour. The needles would be manually stimulated; electro-stimulated or imbedded under the skin depend on the treatment plan. Needles can be retained in the scalp tissue for 2 to 72 hours in order to gain enhancement result. Imbedded needles are stabilized with bandages. It is safe and would not be interfered with any daily activities.
